Moderation

Opportunity Training shall operate moderation processes to ensure that the training and assessment of unit standards are of an appropriate standard and are consistent.

Moderation processes shall include:

  • Pre-accreditation evaluation and induction training for training providers and assessors.
  • On going reviews of training providers and assessors.
  • The development and use of assessment instruments and guidelines.
  • The development and use of a quality management system.
  • The use of assessment planning sheets
  • The use of assessment reports
  • The review of assessments through observations, evaluation of training evidence submitted and the establishment of examples of assessments as benchmarks.
  • The periodic meeting of assessors in local areas and the meeting of Opportunity Training assessors committee.

Pre-accreditation evaluation of training providers and assessors shall be carried out by the moderation committee. Nominated members of the moderation committee may decide to meet with the applicants to determine whether the criteria for accreditation can be met.

A Moderation Report, (Form F12), shall be used for moderation outcomes and forwarded to Opportunity Training for evaluation by the moderation committee.
